Over the past 8 months we’ve been hard at work creating and curating the Independents section for the Fine Watches Hub. It’s not every day we get the chance to straddle industry boundaries and directly reach a new and invested audience of style lovers. Our aim, as always, is to shine a light on the fascinating work taking place behind the doors of Watchmaking’s independents, and to improve consumer access to worthy options they might not have known existed.

These days, it’s pretty rare to be able to walk in to a multi-brand store on the high street and peruse the finest watches the world of independent watchmaking has to offer. A trend towards direct-to-consumer and vertical retail models means that there are fewer and fewer independent multi-brand stores. By fusing hard-to-find artisanal offerings with a modern platform, SKOLORR and Farfetch are hoping to inspire and entice the next generation of discerning watch enthusiasts.

Adding our partnership with Farfetch to the mix is the next step of SKOLORR’s rapid expansion. Our curated online platform is still the foundation of the business, good news is we’ve also secured a dedicated showroom space and VIP lounge in London.

Our events, meet and greets, and private customer liaisons will mostly be taking place at The Hour House, just round the corner from Oxford Street’s iconic Selfridges department store. As well as all of SKOLORR’s tasty delights, The Hour House displays a selection of modern art, rare and vintage watches, and is able to offer luxury timepiece personalisation courtesy of TBlack, specialists in the field of customisation.

In an ever-changing marketplace, SKOLORR is aiming to revolutionise the way independent brands co-operate and cross-pollinate in order to reach new customers. Our partnership with Farfetch is an evolution of this goal, and provides an unrivalled, inclusive, inspiring destination where haute couture and haute horlogerie meet.
