If The Game Of Thrones Guys Wore Watches
With only TWO episodes left of season seven, we got to thinking about our favourite Game of Thrones characters and, more specifically, the timepieces they’d wear if they weren’t, well, living in a mythical, medieval war zone…
Jon Snow is, dare we say it, the Rexhep Rexhepi of the Seven Kingdoms; his strong integrity has informed all of his actions and decisions thus far, making him a compelling frontrunner in the game. Which is why we think the AkriviA Tourbillon Monopusher Chronograph is the piece for him. It’s black, of course, so wouldn’t interfere much with his usual get-up.
Lord Varys is nothing if not decorous, and he certainly has a taste for the finer things in life. Which is why we feel he would opt for an Antoine Tavan bespoke piece. A sparrow or dove would be a likely choice of embellishment, for we all know his fondness of his “little birds”.
Not only would a Gustafsson & Sjögren Damascus steel dial match Sir Jorah’s warrior spirit to a tee, it may also serve him in his quest to win over Daenerys. And since getting over his Greyscale issue, he really does deserve to treat himself.
The youngest, and most favourable, Lannister’s penchant for reflection upon his childhood makes him the perfect fit for Max Büsser’s MB&F. We’re certain his mischievous persona would have him decked in the Horological Machine No. 8, inspired by iconic Can-Am supercars of the 1970s and 80s. Dragons really are the supercars of the Seven Kingdoms.
The Urwerk UR-105 T-Rex really would look at home on Grey Worm’s wrist. The bronze, aged-alloy case would work perfectly with his Unsullied armour, and the spiked crown could double as a weapon when battling for Daenery’s reign.
Good old Jaime, a firm favourite of ours to “win” (if only he would switch sides). Mr Lannister’s kindly counterpart, Nikolaj Castor Waldau, has been spotted wearing the Linde Werdelin Oktopus Moon Gold. We feel this sophisticated black and gold timepiece would also be a perfect match for Jaime.
What else could Westeros’ resident bloke’s bloke possibly wear if not ArtyA’s Son Of A Gun? While all that time spent alongside the Lannister’s may have given him a taste for the finer things life can bring, it’s done nothing to soften his ballsy attitude, and a timepiece with a lucky .357 caliber bullet spinning around the dial would really tickle his fancy.
North of the wall it’s all snow and ice. Which is why we think the leader of the free folk would seriously benefit from a piece of mechanical muscle like the Clerc Hydroscaph L.E.
